Why save the sharks?

Why should we save the sharks? So what if they dissappear? So now I'm going to provide the top ten reasons for saving the sharks and why shark finning should be stopped:

1. Sharks are at the top of the food chain in the marine ecosystem, that means they control the number of each type of fish. If they disappear, there will be this huge upset in the marine life. That means disaster for us!
2.Sharks have been around for 400 million years, that is 100 million years more than the dinosaurs! They have shaped most of the marine life to what it is today.
3.Don't you think it is amazing how sharks have survived for so long but now many species are on the brink of extinction? We have destroyed most of them, it is time we protected them.
4. Shark finning wastes protein and other shark-based products. Up to 99 per cent of the shark is thrown away.
5.The above results in the loss of sharks as a staple food for many developing countries.
6.There are huge projects and campaigns going on to save the tigers and the elephants, so why not sharks?
7.The way of killing the sharks is a way to torture them, isn't it equal to cooking a fish with it still alive but body already cooked? Isn't it equal to cutting the ears of poodles so that they look more fashionable? We all wince at these actions, so why not the same for sharks?
8.Dogs are a man's best friend. Why not sharks? Dogs do kill people at times and sharks can also be trained. This is complete biasness, isn't it?
9.Every year sharks kill 5 people, humans kill millions of sharks every year. Does that mean that the whole human population should be wiped out?
10.80% of sharks do not even make any contact with people, so they pose no harm to us at all! After all, we live on land and they live at sea. So no harm done if you do not even venture into deep waters.

So we should protect sharks, we have overlooked the importance of their existence for years. It's time we take some action.
